Many people are choosing rural tourism for their summer vacation in an attempt to find less dangerous summer holiday destination due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Tourism demand is expected to increase by 30%, the Chairman of the Association of Bulgarian Villages Borislav Borisov told the Bulgarian National Radio. Tourists are looking for closed-type facilities, tourist sites and facilities in the villages which allow accommodation of no more than two to three families.
People in active age, families with children and middle-class citizens have been choosing rural tourism in the recent years. This is an active form of tourism for people who value contact with nature and privacy, Borislav Borisov added.
