Businessman Plamen Bobokov has been detained again

Bulgaria’s businessman Plamen Bobokov was taken again into 24 hour custody under the influence peddling investigation. The charges have been pressed over the SMS correspondence between Bobokov and President Radev’s Secretary on legal affairs and anti-corruption Plamen Uzunov. According to the SMS correspondence, the Bulgarian businessman was lobbying for appointment of ambassadors of Bulgaria to Algeria and Nigeria. The correspondence between them was found in the phone of Plamen Bobokov who was released earlier on a record-high EUR 500,000 bail. Plamen Bobokov, together with his brother Atanas Bobokov and a former minister of environment are investigated under another proceeding- for illegal import and export of waste.
