Exports of Bulgarian wine in the first half of 2020 remained unchanged as compared to previous years despite the coronavirus pandemic. However, a decrease was registered in the exports of wine to traditional markets such as China. The ministry specifies that the total area of land covered by vines amounts to 60,862 hectares. 61% of the vineyards are registered for production of wines with protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications.
