On the 59th day of protests in Bulgaria citizens dissatisfied with the system protested in front of the Sofia District Court building on Skobelev Boulevard. They demanded that the demonstrators who were arrested during the so-called “Grand National Uprising” on September 2 and are still under detention be relased. The protesters strongly condemned the statement of the Director of the Sofia Police Directorate Georgi Hadzhiev that the detainees have criminal records.

The intersections on Eagles’ Bridge, in front of the Sofia University and in the area of the so-called Triangle of Power are open for traffic.

Last night Police did not allow the protesters to set up another tent camp on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulavard again.

At last night’s rally the protesters announced that they are planning another nationwide protest on September 10 under the motto Grand National Uprising.

On Saturday antigovernment protests are expected to take place in Sofia and in other Bulgarian cities.
