Bulgarian Socialist Party votes on new leader

The members of the Bulgarian Socialist Party are electing a new leader of the party today. For the first time in the party's history, the leader will be elected by direct vote
Four candidates will compete in the race - the current leader Kornelia Ninova, her deputy in the party Kiril Dobrev, MPs Valeri Zhablyanov and Krassimir Yankov, BNR reports.
About 80,000 people have the right to vote for the new BSP leader and the polling stations opened in the country are 1,140. 
The election day started at 7.00 am and will last until 7.00 pm. The election will be considered valid if more than half of those eligible to vote take part.
By 3 pm the voter turnout of the Socialists has been 56,1%.
