Decline in imports and exports from Bulgaria to the EU

In the period January - August 2020, exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU decreased by 6.7% compared to the same period in 2019 and amounted to just under 12 billion euros. This is shown by NSI data. Bulgaria's main trade partners are Germany, Romania, Italy, Greece, France and Belgium, which account for 70.3% of exports to EU Member States.

The imports of goods from the EU to Bulgaria decreased more for the same period - 12.3%. Imported goods also total just under 12 billion euros. Bulgaria imports goods mostly from Germany, Romania, Italy, Greece and the Netherlands.
