Varna Summer International Theatre Festival kicks off in online edition

The 28th edition of the Varna Summer International Theatre Festival 2020 kicks off today and will run until December 6th. The festival which was supposed to run from June 28 was postponed due to the pandemic.


The festival will be held entirely online as its programme will feature ten theatre productions from around the world staged by some of the most remarkable directors of recent years - Timofey Kulyabin and Kirill Serebrennikov from Russia, Grzegorz Jażyna from Poland, Andreas Kriegenburg from Germany, Declan Donnellan from the United Kingdom. 
The festival will close with a Bulgarian production directed by Galin Stoev. 
Access to each performance will be free for 72 hours from the subpage of each of the titles on the festival website in the section PROGRAMME. The performances will be broadcast in their original language with Bulgarian subtitles.
