“As of today lovers of skiing, snow and mountains can come and ski in the winter resort of Bansko,” Mayor Ivan Kadev said for the BNR.
Strict safety measures are in place in the town’s ski zone. A layer of snow has formed in Mount Pirin which is over one metre high in the top parts of the mountain. Snow cannons are also in use. The local ski schools remain closed. Out of the almost 200 ski instructors a little over 10% have been hired.
