“If the number of Covid-19 cases declines, after 12 January at the earliest schools will switch to alternating in-person with online learning for 5th-12th grade students,” Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev said for bTV. “We shall not permit there to be a zero year.  So far, 50% of schooling has been in-person. There will be no school closures over flu, there will be no field trips, so there won’t be many omissions.”

Schoolteachers  will form the second group to be vaccinated after medical staff. According to preliminary information, 20% of teachers want to get a vaccine, and under 15% say they do not, the remainder prefer to wait and see. Minister Valchev stated his readiness to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
