3 goals in new strategy for small and medium enterprises in Bulgaria

Three strategic goals have been set in the new Strategy for Small and Medium Enterprises in Bulgaria for the period 2021-2027, published for public discussion on the website of the Ministry of Economy. The first goal is increased competitiveness of small and medium enterprises in Bulgaria, the second - specialization in high-tech industries and knowledge-intensive services, and the third - regional equality.

The document has been prepared on the basis of an analysis of the situation of small and medium enterprises in Bulgaria in the period 2008-2018 and consultations with business and local authorities.

In Bulgaria, small and medium enterprises contribute to 75.7% of total employment and 65.3% of added value in the economy in 2018, the document reads.
