The Sofia City Court has allowed the official registration of the Bulgarian Summer party backed by Bulgarian businessman Vasil Bozhkov who has been hiding by authorities in Dubai. The court's decision can be appealed within a period of seven days. At the registration hearing, the prosecutor's office insisted that the party not be registered because of doubts about the authenticity of the founders' PINs, and also because its emblem resembled that of the Bulgarian Mint and of an energy drink.
The collected signatures of the party's founders are over 3,200, with 2,500 required by law, BNT reported.
The deadline for parties to register for the upcoming parliamentary elections is February 17.
