On weekends in February, the museums and the city art gallery in Plovdiv will be open to children free of charge, BNR’s correspondent in Plovdiv Kremena Daneva reports.

They will all be offering creative workshops, fun and games, as well as lectures. The children’s department of the Ivan Vazov National Library is also joining the municipality’s initiative, and there will be lots of surprises for the children.

For the 8 weekend days these cultural institutions have prepared a diverse prorgamme for the children, as well as special gifts. Besides educational, the initiative also aims to encourage children to go to museums and galleries, as they have seen a considerable decline in visits due to the pandemic. The organizers believe that during the weekends in February these cultural institutions will see visits by children but also by the general public from all over the country.
