The Sofia District Court has acquitted the chair of the Pharmaceutical Union, Prof. Asena Serbezova, previously accused of causing panic through statements in media. The president of the Pharmaceutical Union was accused of causing panic in two of her interviews with BNR and BNT in April 2020. She then warned of a possible shortage of drugs due to the lock-down over the Covid-19 pandemic.

Serbezova asked the court to acquit her. She pointed out that after her interviews, the Ministry of Health and the parliament had taken the necessary measures. According to her, her expert opinion had a positive effect on society, BTA has reported.
