European Year of Railway Transport officially starts on March 29

By decision of the European Parliament, 2021 has been declared the European Year of Rail. The official start of the initiative will be given today, Bulgaria's Ministry of Transport has announced. Its aim is to promote railways to citizens through various projects and events across Europe.

According to the National Statistical Institute, the total length of railway lines in Bulgaria amounts to 4,030 km.
