Fewer representatives of local communities in election commissions abroad

Bulgaria's Central Election Commission has complied with the law when appointing members of sectional election commissions abroad. CEC spokesman Dimitar Dimitrov said complaints about the appointment  of sectional election commissions abroad came mainly from Cyprus, Spain and Germany. They are related to the fact that local communities are not sufficiently respected in the appointment.
Consultations have been held with the political parties that made their proposals for the formations.
"Wherever possible, persons from the local communities have been appointed, but their appointment is not a priority. This year, the parties have made quite complete proposals and the number of seats that can be filled by local communities is smaller, " Dimitrov said.
