35 pre-trial proceedings related to elections

Since the beginning of the election campaign, 35 pre-trial proceedings related to citizens' voting rights have started, the National interdepartmental headquarters for the parliamentary elections said, BNR’s reporter Silvia Velikova informed. There has already been a suspended sentence over vote-buying.

455 signals over buying of votes for a certain candidate, over damaging the property of a political party and making threats have been received. 11 people have been charged and three have been detained. Two pre-trial proceedings have been instituted against persons who tried to vote with false documents. A man with red notice by Interpol, wanted by the Indonesian authorities for money laundering, has also been identified, the headquarters informed.
