Bulgaria is to extend the emergency epidemic situation, announced this country’s outgoing Premier Boyko Borissov at a meeting with representatives of the tourism industry, broadcast live on Facebook. The summer tourist season will pass in compliance with all Covid-19 health and safety protocols, said Bulgaria’s outgoing Minister of Tourism Mariana Nikolova.

70% of the hotels in the largest resort complex "Sunny Beach" will not open during the forthcoming summer tourist season, said the Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Owners in Tourism Georgi Nikolchev and asked for clarity on how foreign tourists will be entering this country. Georgi Nikolchev also asked how Russian tourists would be attracted to Bulgaria, as Turkey introduced a lockdown because of the large number of coronavirus cases in this country.
