Bulgaria is EU leader in share of foreign students of medicine

Receiving a medical degree in Bulgaria has been very attractive to foreign students and this country is a leader in the EU in terms of concentration of students from abroad in these specialties, while the professional realization of the graduates is extremely high. This is shown by data presented for public discussion related to the draft National Map of Higher Education in Bulgaria.

In the academic year 2020/2021, a total of 17,046 foreign students studied in this country, or nearly 8% of the total number of students for the year. Most of them study Medicine /45.6%/ or Dentistry /9.1%/.
