41 Covid-19 deaths in past day, highest in a month

98 is the number of newly registered coronavirus cases out of 19,607 tests performed in the country in the past 24 hours, a positivity rate of 0.5% Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show.

On Tuesday, the day of the week when the number of new infections is highest due to accumulation of data from the previous week, the number of newly registered Covid-19 cases remains below 100. Once again the highest number of new infections is in Sofia – 51. In 8 regions of the country no new cases have been reported. The number of active cases is 8,417.

1,134 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 123 of them in intensive care. The number of Covid deaths is high – 41, in contrast to Monday when there were zero Covid-19 deaths. 228 have recovered in the past day.

7,838 doses of vaccine were administered over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of people with at least one dose to 1,798,875. The number of fully vaccinated people in the country is now 824,470.
