Several hundred Bulgarian servicemen to reinforce security at Bulgarian border

"Several hundred Bulgarian servicemen will reinforce security at the Bulgarian border to prevent illegal entry into Bulgarian territory," Minister of Defence Georgi Panayotov told reporters at the Tsruncha training centre where he watched a demonstration of Bulgarian-American Joint Combined Exercise Training, JCET, the press service of the Bulgarian Defence Ministry has announced.

“Pressure at the Bulgarian border is increasing which requires the government to act,” Minister Panayotov said. The servicemen who will be dispatched to the border will be mostly from the ground troops and from the special operations forces – between 400 and 700 in number.
