Covid-19 death toll in Bulgaria tops 20,000

458 is the number of newly registered daily coronavirus cases out of 4,740 tests performed in the country over the past 24 hours, a positivity rate of 9.7%, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show.

As usual on a Monday the figures are not representative, as data is not reported evenly on weekends, and the data backlog is only registered on Tuesday.

At 38,734 the number of active cases remained under 40,000 at the end of the week. 4,750 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 391 in intensive care. 1,069 patients have been reported as recovered. 43 have died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to more than 20,000, at 20,028.

1,697 doses of vaccine were administered in the past day, bringing the total number of vaccinations in the country to 2,463,666.
