Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov overtakes world No. 2 Medvedev at Indian Wells

Bulgaria's tennis star Grigor Dimitrov, 30, has defeated No. 2 in the world rankings, Daniil Medvedev of Russia, with 4:6, 6:4 and 6:3 in the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Indian Wells. 

Dimitrov, who lost in this phase to the same opponent in August in Cincinnati, this time in California managed to make an impressive turn in the course of the game. Dimitrov lost the first set and three games at the start of the second set. Yet the Bulgarian succeeded in defeating the US Open champ Medvedev later in the match.


In the quarterfinals, Dimitrov's opponent will be Pole Hubert Hurkacz, who ousted Russian Aslan Karatsev in two sets. The match will be player later today.
