The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD, is forecasting that the economy of Bulgaria will grow by 4.2% in 2021, compensating for the 4.2% drop in 2020. This means the EBRD has cut down its June forecast for a 4.5% GDP growth by December.
In its November report Regional Economic Prospects, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development projects a GDP growth in Bulgaria of 4.4% in 2022. The projection is 0.4% higher compared to June, when the expected growth rate was 4%.
“The risks are tilted to the downside, including the low vaccination rate and ongoing political crisis," the EBRD notes.
