About 60% of youngest pupils in Bulgaria ready to return to classrooms

The parents of 57.03% of Bulgarian students from 1st to 4th grade in municipalities with a total morbidity of over 250 per 100,000 people across the country have given their consent for their children to return to school, being tested with non-invasive tests for Covid-19 twice a week. 

In the other municipalities primary education pupils have already switched to in-person learning, the Ministry of Education announced.

The pressure for resuming school attendance with regular testing of students is especially strong in Sofia, where the parents of 68.44% of young students have given their consent. The Montana area remains in the queue, where only 36.4% of parents have agreed to have their children tested twice a week in order to return to the classrooms.
