An analysis of the impact of high energy prices on the whole economy is needed. This is what Bulgaria's Minister of Finance Valeri Belchev called for at today's Economic and Financial Affairs Council in Brussels. He stressed that high prices and the inflation they cause are posing a serious challenge not only for national economies but also for the global economic system, which is why a coordinated approach is needed.

Belchev stressed that Bulgaria supports the EC's proposal to use various instruments to reduce fuel prices, especially for households, and that EC has already taken concrete measures in this direction.
