The average income per household member in Bulgaria during the third quarter of 2021 was 991 euro, up by 10.5% compared to the same three months of 2020, National Statistical Institute data show.
The total expenses in Bulgaria during the third quarter of 2021 stood at 924 euro, up by 15.2% compared to 2020. The highest share of incomes comes from salaries – 58.2%, followed by pensions 28,7%, and self-employed work – 5.4%.
Food and soft drinks account for the biggest share in the structure of expenses – 30%, followed by housing costs – 17.4%. Bulgarians pay 13% of their incomes for taxes and social security, and 11% for transportation.
