Tourism is very closely connected with Sofia Airport. There is an opportunity for mutual support and cooperation, taking into account that Sofia Airport is the gateway to Bulgaria, this country’s Minister of Tourism Hristo Prodanov said at a meeting at the Tourism Ministry with Jesus Caballero, CEO of the Sofia Airport operator-SOF Connect.

"We have key development strategies that will help tourism. First, we are planning to turn Sofia into a place from which all major airport hubs are accessible with one transfer. Secondly, we are developing direct destinations that are 2 to 4 hours away by plane, " Jesus Caballero said during the meeting with Bulgaria's Minister of Transport Hristo Prodanov.
