The map showing the occupancy of Covid-19 beds will be divided into 5 zones- Sofia, Plovdiv, Pleven, Stara Zagora and Varna. There will be big university hospitals with enough Covid-19 beds in each zone.

The proposal was made by mathematician Nikolay Vitanov and confirmed by this country’s Chief State Health Inspector Angel Kunchev. Currently, the authorities are developing a program that would provide real time information about the occupancy of Covid-19 beds. We are not discussing abolishing the green certificate issued to people with antibodies, because many people rely on these certificates, Angel Kunchev noted.

The Omicron coronavirus variant is spreading quickly, but occupancy of intensive care beds is low, Premier Kiril Petkov said before the beginning of today’s sitting of the cabinet.
