Sofia-Skopje flights to be resumed

The first flight after the Sofia-Skopje line was resumed lasted 30 minutes. “We believe that the line will be an instrument providing people working in tourism with more opportunities, more profits, more tourists,” said Minister of Transport Nikolay Sabev after the flight.

“We need to develop our economic relations in a new way so that both sides will benefit. The fact that the minister of tourism is a member of our delegation speaks clearly of how seriously Bulgaria takes its commitment,” Nikolay Sabev added.

In Skopje, the representatives of the tourist industry from Bulgaria and North Macedonia began discussions on how to avail themselves of the opportunities the new line offers. The Sofia-Skopje line was closed 10 years ago as unprofitable.

The new Sofia-Skopje flight will be resumed on 27 March, Blagoy Bochvarski, Minister of Transport of the Republic of North Macedonia stated. According to initial unofficial information, talks are underway for the flights to be twice weekly, and for this line to include Tirana.
