Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev called for the creation of a unified national crisis management system. He told reporters that Bulgaria was not ready with action plans and models, and the population and the people who need to manage the crisis must be prepared.

The system has been neglected for decades, and only now, against the background of hostilities in Ukraine, are we still creating a crisis headquarters and thinking of hiding places, Radev said.

The President pointed out that he expects vigorous measures in this direction from the line ministers, institutions and the legislator. The head of state expressed hope that the competent institutions would work actively on the short-term urgent measures and measures in the medium term, scheduled for the meeting he initiated last week with representatives of the government and services.
