During a routine random check, the customs officers at Kapitan Andreebvo border check point intercepted almost 7 kgs. of gold jewellery, worth close to EUR 413,300, the regional press service of the Customs Agency, Svlilengrad has announced.
The biggest amount – 5,446.1 grams of gold, worth over EUR 343,100 was discovered during a thorough inspection of a car transporting four women from Moldova entering Bulgaria from Turkey on 19 March. The third instance is from 17 March, when 938.28 grams of gold jewellery worth more than EUR 43,160 was found inside a truck travelling from Turkey to the UK.
