More than 1.5 million more foreigners are expected to visit Bulgaria in 2022 compared to 2021, Rumen Draganov from the Institute for Analysis and Evaluation in Tourism told BNR. "There is about 100% rise in the trips of Bulgarians travelling abroad.

Bulgaria is expected to welcome 70,000 foreign visitors for the Easter holidays, Draganov added.
There is interest in Bulgaria for the summer season in the context of flight restrictions due to the war in Ukraine. There are flights from unusual destinations, such as Croatia, Switzerland or Spain
According to Draganov, Ukrainian refugees accommodated in Bulgarian hotels "will not interfere with the season, because there is oversupply and free capacity."
Due to oversupply and fierce competition, the expert does not expect a drastic jump in hotel prices.
