“The deepening protests mean that the trust deficit is deepening,” President Rumen Radev told reporters today. According to him, the only solution that would stand the test of time is an open and constructive dialogue, in which the opinion of all sides shall be heard and respected. It is up to the government’s policy to prevent the transformation of the economic and social crisis into a political crisis, he stated.

“The most important thing is not to allow there to be a deficit of trust,” the President stated, and added that without trust, no government can lead the country through severe crises. In Rumen Radev’s words, businesses and consumers want predictability which is particularly important in times of crisis.

“I hope such predictability will be provided in future, and lower prices will be a long-term policy for the Bulgarian government,” President Radev said.
