The number of buses leaving Bulgaria through the Durankulak border checkpoint with Ukrainian citizens in the last 24 hours is three times more than the number entering. This trend has been observed for about a week.

As announced by the government, since the beginning of June the state has reduced the funds for the living costs of a Ukrainian refugee in a hotel from 40 /20 euros/ to 15 levs /7 euros/ per day.

"Ukrainian refugees should soon be integrated into the labour market in Bulgaria and start living like all other Bulgarians," said Tourism Minister Hristo Prodanov. "The state has treated these people with the necessary respect, with the necessary responsibility," he said.

Prodanov added that Bulgaria has not abandoned the plan to accommodate Ukrainian citizens fleeing the war in Bulgaria in state-owned facilities as of June 1.
