The Bulgarian members of the Joint Historical Commission under the Good Neighbourliness Treaty between Bulgaria and North Macedonia have presented the results achieved by the Commission to the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs. The clauses in the Treaty are expected to start being implemented, the Foreign Ministry announced.

The request of the opposition in the Republic of North Macedonia for a referendum against the 2017 Treaty of Good Neighbourliness and Friendship with Bulgaria will not prevent the fulfillment of the commitments undertaken by Skopje. The Speaker of the North Macedonian Parliament, Talat Xhaferi, rejected it as unconstitutional, commented Deputy Foreign Minister Kostadin Kodzhabashev.

From a legal point of view, the contract is unshakable, according to the Bulgarian diplomacy.
