The gas interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece already has received a pre-operational license (Act 15) for the territory of Bulgaria, the project company "ICGB", which will be the operator of the gas pipeline, has announced. From there, they assured that the procedures for putting the gas interconnector into operation are progressing according to schedule and it will start commercial operation on October 1.

The Act 15 license certifies that the gas pipeline is completed and technically sound and the builder - the Greek company "Avax" - hands over the completed object.

"This is the last step we have to take towards obtaining Act 16 (operational license) in Bulgaria and the corresponding permission for use. We have provided the institutions with all the documents and we expect the administrative procedures to be completed by the end of next week, so that we can start according to plan", said the executive directors of ICGB Teodora Georgieva and Georgios Satlas.
