For the third year in a row, Plovdiv celebrates the festival of wines from local grape varieties. It is dedicated to Bulgarian wine and named after one of the most valued and old Bulgarian varieties, Mavrud. The initiative aims to attract interest to Bulgarian viticulture and winemaking, to highlight the remarkable harmony between thousand-year-old traditions, new technologies, quality and stylistic diversity of the wines produced in Bulgaria.

The aspiration is for the holiday to establish itself as a truly significant event in the wine presentation of the country, which will provide information and direct different groups of consumers to Bulgarian wine.

On the central square in Plovdiv, Urban wine fest presented a rich selection of over 35 Bulgarian wines from local varieties, combined with culinary delights and selected music.
