Residents of Kyiv warned about a possible evacuation

Kyiv residents should be ready to leave the city if there is a complete blackout, said the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitaly Klitschko. In recent weeks, millions of Ukrainians have been without electricity and water as Russian missiles and drones have struck vital infrastructure. In order to avoid overloads and to allow for repairs, a periodic shutdown of the power supply has been introduced. About 40% of Ukraine's energy system has been damaged or destroyed by Russian attacks on power plants and power lines.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that, in violation of the Geneva Conventions for the Protection of Civilians in areas of armed conflict, Russia is stockpiling Iranian missiles to repeat mass attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, primarily energy. Zelensky added that without Tehran's support for Moscow, Ukraine would already be closer to peace.

After the nuclear threats made by Russia, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan spoke with his Kremlin counterpart Yury Ushakov and the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev to prevent Moscow from using nuclear weapons against Ukraine, writes The Wall Street Journal. The White House declined to comment on the news. National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said: "People are saying a lot of things." On Friday, Sullivan visited Kyiv and there expressed full support for Ukraine, Reuters recalls.

According to so-called Russian military correspondents, a major Russian offensive in Ukraine is coming in November, which will take place with the already trained and equipped Russian reservists, reports mignews.com.
