GERB supported the proposal of "Vazrazhdane" party which envisages that the "Energy" section of the Recovery and Resilience Plan should be renegotiated, in order to preserve the mining companies in Maritsa East basin.

Only GERB and “Bulgarian Rise” responded to the invitation of "Vazrazhdane" party to hold talks on the topic. Earlier, GERB called on President Rumen Radev to urgently convene a meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security over the committments in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. “Bulgaria will lose billions of Euros, because it will have to stop exporting electricity as of 2026”, GERB MP Delyan Dobrev contends.
