Rail traffic between Bulgaria and Serbia remains blocked

The incident with the derailed wagons carrying ammonia near Pirot (Serbia) is still affecting international rail traffic. Traffic between Pirot and Tsaribrod is completely interrupted. Rail traffic between Bulgaria and Turkey is also disrupted. 14 trains have been waiting on Bulgarian territory since the beginning of the incident, Director of Bulgarian State Railways Atanas Atanasov said for the BNT.

"The Serbian authorities are doing their outmost to restore traffic. I suppose that this will happen in the space of a few days", Atanas Atanasov said, but warned that traffic delays will continue because of a forthcoming repair of railway tracks in Serbia.
