Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov won 7-6(3), 7-5, 6-2 against Russian Aslan Karatsev in the first round of the Australian Open. Dimitrov has had just one loss in the first round in Melbourne in his career so far. The Bulgarian has always shown strong performance in the Australian Open and the match against Karatsev was his 30th win in the Grand Slam tournament. Dimitrov has already managed to reach one semifinal and three quarterfinals.

He will now face Serbian Laslo Djere who won against Belgian Zizou Bergs. The Bulgarian has never played against 27-year-old Djere, who ranks 68th in the world. If Dimitrov wins, he could face Novak Djokovic in the third round of the tournament.
