The National Representation of Student Councils (NRSC) in Bulgarian universities has organized a campaign to help the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, BTA reports. The initiative of the student councils is to collect warm children's, women's and men's clothes and shoes, all kinds of essentials, sleeping bags, blankets and bed linen, hygiene materials.
The collection points in the National Student House and the University of National and World Economy will accept donations today until noon, after which they will be transported directly to the affected areas and distributed to those in need. The students call on those who wish to financially support the victims to donate funds through the Bulgarian Red Cross and by SMS to number 1466 for all mobile operators.
So far, nearly 400,000 euros have been deposited into the bank account opened by the Bulgarian Red Cross to help the people injured in the massive earthquake in Turkey and Syria and the funds from the SMS donations exceeded 125,000 euros.
