Bulgarians and friends of Bulgaria in Tokyo and Chicago pay tribute to Vasil Levski

The 150th death anniversary of Vasil Levski was marked at the Bulgarian Embassy in Japan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Members of the Bulgarian community in Japan and friends of Bulgaria attended the event. Japanese students studying Bulgarian at two Japanese universities recited Hristo Botev's poem "The Hanging of Vasil Levski".

Bulgarians in Chicago also pay tribute to Vasil Levski through a series of events, the Bulgarian National Radio’s correspondent Elena Tsaneva reports. More than 120 children of immigrants from 8 Bulgarian schools and various clubs participate in the Olympiad dedicated to the Apostle. It is organized by the Magura Cultural Center in cooperation with the John Atanasoff Bulgarian Language School.
