President Radev cancels his participation in the 10th Global Forum in Baku

President Rumen Radev cancelled his participation in the 10th Global Forum in Baku, because he tested positive for Covid-19. Bulgaria’s head of state, who is paying a visit to Azerbaijan, showed no symptoms of the disease but nevertheless decided to cancel his participation in the forum, the Press Office of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria said.

Earlier, Rumen Radev had a video call with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, who said that in May this year the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR will open an office in Bulgaria.

Earlier on Saturday, in Baku, President Radev met with entrepreneurs and discussed investment exchange in the field of high technologies and high value-added industries. At the meeting, organized by the Bulgarian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BACCI), Rumen Radev said that active dialogue at the highest political level between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan and the excellent bilateral relations are a solid foundation for further deepening of cooperation in the economic area. According to President Radev, there is potential for long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships, of which businesses should actively take advantage.
