The National Assembly extended its working time so as to hear out Justice Minister Atanas Slavov regarding the steps after the election of acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov.

Before that, the MPs approved, without discussion, the rules of procedure for the nomination of candidates for governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, BNB, and for the hearings of the candidates. The nominations will be made by the parliamentary groups within 7 days.

The plenary sitting was boycotted by the ruling coalition We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) in protest against the fact that GERB, whose support they have for the cabinet, refused to extend the deadline for the nomination of candidates. PP/DB want to invite managers from abroad for governor of the BNB, whereas GERB support the current governor Dimitar Radev.
