Dropping temperatures, rain expected on Monday

On Monday, clouds will continue to develop with brief showers and thunderstorms. There will also be hail. The wind will be weak to moderate from the west-northwest, in Eastern Bulgaria from the north-northeast. Daytime temperatures will drop and the maximum will be mostly between 24 °C and 29 °C, in Sofia - around 24 °C.

In the mountains, cloud cover will be mostly significant and there will be brief thunderstorms. A moderate to strong north-northwest wind will blow. The maximum at a height of 1,200 m will be about 18 °C, at 2,000 m - about 11 °C.

Cloudiness along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast will be mostly significant and there will be precipitation and thunder in many places. The maximum temperatures will be from 24 °C-27 °C, and the sea water at 23 °C-24 °C.

It will be mostly sunny over the western half of the Balkan Peninsula. Over the central and eastern parts of the peninsula, the cloud cover will often be significant and there will be brief thunderstorms in many places. It will be 33 °C in Athens, 30 °C in Bucharest, 28 °C in Belgrade and Istanbul.

It will be sunny and hot on the Iberian Peninsula. Over Western Europe after the passage of a cold atmospheric front, cloudiness will be variable, but only in isolated places in the British Isles will it rain.  In Madrid, the maximum temperature will reach 39 °C , in Munich - 32 °C, in Rome - 31 °C, in Vienna - 29 °C, in Paris and Stockholm - 25 °C, in St. Petersburg and in Moscow - 24 °C.

It will rain in New York (26 °C) and Melbourne (15 °C), there will be thunderstorms in Chicago (24 °C), and it will be sunny in Cape Town (18 °C).
