46 940 attempts to cross the Bulgaria-Turkiye border were prevented in the period June 1- July 31, the Ministry of Interior announced. This represents an increase of 73% in the number of illegal entries prevented compared to the same period in 2022, when there were 27,083 such attempts. The number of migrants apprehended at the border area has doubled to 400, compared to 200 in the same two-month period of 2022.
