The increase in the sale of new cars in Bulgaria over the first 9 months of the year is four times higher than of used cars, indicate data of the Association of Car Manufacturers and traffic police.

In the 1 January-end of September period, car dealerships have sold 24.6% more new cars compared to the same period of 2022. At the same time, the number of used cars imported has gone up by just 6%. But in absolute terms, for every new car sold in Bulgaria, 5 used cars are imported. According to statistics, 27,382 is the number of new cars bought during the first 9 months of the year as against 144,613 used cars. The tendency holds of more than 60% of the used cars imported into the country being more than 10 years old – a total of a little over 108,000.
