European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kövesi visits Bulgaria

European Public Prosecutor Laura Kövesi arrives in Bulgaria today for a visit. She will meet with top officials of the Ministry of Interior. 

On Wednesday 8 November, Interior Ministry Secretary-General Zhivko Kotsev announced that the ministry and the European Public Prosecutor's Office had conducted a police operation a week ago over alleged embezzlement of EU funds. According to Kotsev, the structures of the Interior Ministry are cooperating very intensively with the European Public Prosecutor's Office.
