Calendar with a cause

Bulgarian firefighters took on the role of models in front of the camera of photographer Deyan Nedyalkov and created a provocative "Calendar with a cause" for the year 2024.
The initiative belongs to the "I Believe and Help" association, which has been collecting funds for the purchase of specialized children's ambulances and equipment for the neonatology departments in Varna hospitals for eight years.

The provocative charitable approach also aims to attract public attention to firefighters and their profession in Bulgaria.

The first edition of the calendar of 500 copies was sold out in days and now they are planning an additional one. The funds will go to the long-standing cause of "I believe and help'', Vladislav Nikolov, chairman of the association, explained to BNR.

The idea of active firefighters taking pictures for charity in a calendar originates from Australia (Australian Firefighters Calendar) and is already 30 years old. During this time, the most anticipated calendar in Australia has collected more than 3 million dollars, with which dozens of organizations and causes have been supported. Every year, local species of animals are also present in it, thus the brave men draw public attention to their endangered habitats.

The idea became so popular that today it is even part of Australia's tourist attractions. Years ago, it was also implemented in France with great success. It is now the turn of Bulgarian firefighters.
